The SU-EFC is utilizing its solid waste management and recycling expertise to further develop the Puerto Rico Recycling Partnership (PRRP), a group formed in 2010 by the Puerto Rican government and the US EPA to promote materials source reduction, clean composting, reuse, and recycling through a workshop partnership. The SU-EFC led the creation of the PRRP and plays a critical role in facilitating the partnership. The PRRP membership includes citizens, environmental groups, all levels of government, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. The partnership has over 300 members, and is composed of a number of active working teams.
