EPA Official Tours Save the Rain Green Infrastructure Projects in Syracuse
Nancy Stoner, EPA's acting Assistant Administrator for Water got a first hand look at green infrastructure projects implemented under Onondaga County's Save the Rain program during her visit to Syracuse on June 29th. In spring 2012, the EPA chose Syracuse as one of ten communities across the county to be designated as a "Green Infrastructure Partner." GreeningUSA to Host Monthly "Green Bag" Lunch at Syracuse Center of Excellence
GreeningUSA is kicking off a monthly "green bag" lunch at the Syracuse Center of Excellence headquarters in Syracuse. The events will provide a forum for public input on GreeningUSA's 12 Traits of Sustainable Communities program, and assist GreeningUSA in the development of expert committees for each trait. The series will begin with an overview of the 12 Traits program on September 14th, 2012, followed by subsequent lunches focusing on each trait. Public Forums Underway for Mid-Hudson Sustainability Plan
The Mid-Hudson Sustainability Planning Consortium is steering the development of the Mid-Hudson Regional Sustainability Plan as part of the Cleaner, Greener Communities Program announced by Governor Andrew Cuomo in his 2011 State of the State address. The consortium will hold a series of public forums open to residents of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Westchester and Ulster counties. Learn More |

Campus RainWorks Challenge
Student teams are invited to create an innovative green infrastructure design for a site on their campus showing how managing stormwater at its source can benefit the campus community and the environment. Winning teams will earn a cash prize, as well as research funds for their faculty advisor to conduct research on green infrastructure. Learn More
