Apr 24 – NYSAR3 Textile Recycling Campaign Wins Environmental Champion Award

On April 24, the U.S. EPA officially announced 25 recipients of the Environmental Champion Award, including NYSAR3 for their successful launch of the New York State Textile Recovery Campaign, ReClothe NY. The campaign has raised awareness for textile recycling through more than 150 media placements in November 2014 and through the collection of 100,000 pounds of textiles during its launch alone.

Syracuse EFC Assistant Director and Re-Clothe NY Public Relations Committee Chair Melissa Young, and Town of Bethlehem Recycling Coordinator and Re-Clothe NY Chair Dan Rain were present to receive the award at EPA’s offices in Manhattan.

Awards were presented by Regional Administrator for EPA Region 2, Judith Enck, as well as Donovan Richard, Chair of the New York City Council’s Committee on Environmental Protection
