EPA Awards $2.5 Million to EFCN to Assist Small Drinking Water and Wastewater Systems 

 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded $2.5 million to the Environmental Finance Center Network to help small water systems improve their financial and managerial capabilities that will enable these systems to effectively provide safe drinking water over the long-term. The funding will help provide training and tools to improve small system operations and management practices, promoting sustainability and supporting EPA's mission to protect public health and the environment. EPA Awards $131,050 to SyracuseCoE Center for Sustainable Community Solutions for Mini-Grant Program  


In September, the U.S. EPA awarded $131,050 to the SyracuseCoE Center for Sustainable Community Solutions for a mini-grant program that will support community organizations and schools working together on environmental education projects. The CSCS will award sub grants of $5,000 or less to community organizations and schools working in urban and rural communities New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the eight federally recognized Tribal Nations within New York State. The sub grants will focus on projects to reduce polluted rain-water run-off and promote waste reduction, recycling and composting.
