Apr 26 – GREEN-PR Stewardship Program Brings Environmental Education to K-12 Classrooms

On Saturday, March 28, twenty interns participating in Syracuse EFC’s GREEN-PR Stewardship Program met with staff at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico to present on the progress of their semester-long educational projects and to tour the recycling and composting sites there. The projects focus on delivering lessons on sustainable materials management (SMM) and green infrastructure (GI) to K-12 students, and establishing SMM and GI projects at schools. Stewards’ internships will officially come to a close with a graduation ceremony scheduled for May 29.

The Stewardship Program is part of Syracuse EFC’s initiative, Generating Replicable Environmental Education Networks in Puerto Rico (GREEN-PR), a system of seven Environmental Education hubs centered at Educational Institutions in Puerto Rico.
