Creating resilience is about enhancing the ability of a community to anticipate, absorb or recover from a shock and to adapt successfully to such conditions so as to make the community better and more secure in the future. As community leaders prepare for future resilience, they should incorporate the principles of equity, fairness, and access to resources, so as to not privilege one group or generation over another.
